Registration fees are:

There is an optional banquet fee of 4,000 JPY.
Note posted on May 11: Since the number of registered participants is close to the capacity of the conference venue, we have stopped new registrations. Those who have not paid registration fees are placed on the wait-list. There are still some slots available, and we can accept fee payments to complete registrations in the order of receipt, until the hard capacity is reached.
Hotels:
After completing your registration, you will have an option of making your hotel reservation through the site by clicking on the "accommodation" button. These hotel rooms are offered by our official travel agent, Tobu Top Tours.
If you find costs of hotel rooms listed on our registration page too expensive, you are welcome to consult online resources. In some cases, you may be able to find better deals through online travel companies such as:

If you need a visa to enter Japan, please fill out the visa request form after submitting the registration form and the fee, no later than 16th April, 2018. When you submit your visa request form, please make sure to send your CV and publication list to strings_admin@oist.jp.
